SDR Care is a growing business with care homes situated on the South Coast. We pride ourselves on investing in our people and we are committed to the UK Living Wage Foundation. We aim to continuously train and develop our staff to enable them to reach their full potential within our collaborative and supportive team.
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team of Support Workers at our home in Eastleigh, Southampton. The home specialises in person-centred care for people with learning difficulties and autism.
We welcome individuals with experience or an understanding of supporting people with autism and learning difficulties. However, we are also open to training the right candidates. You will be a valuable team member if you enjoy working with people, have a compatible personality, and share our values. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, effective communicators, with high standards of care, and who are sensitive to the needs of people with learning disabilities.
The home is a vibrant residential home that caters for individuals with autism. Our mission is to empower our residents to lead independent, fulfilling, and enjoyable lives. As a member of our dedicated support team, you’ll play a crucial role in achieving this goal. You will support individuals to engage in diverse activities, from accompanying people on shopping trips to enjoying leisure pursuits like bowling, cinema outings, and golf. Your days will always be dynamic and rewarding.
During the week, we encourage residents to explore their interests and passions. Whether it’s going for a swim or a visit to family members, you’ll be there to provide guidance and support. At the weekends, we often host or participate in social gatherings for friends and families, we explore car-boot sales, attend local community events, and take time to prepare Sunday’s big roast dinner.
Our days are consistently busy, filled with enjoyment, and never dull!
You must hold a valid full UK driver’s license is required (preferably held for at least one year).
Working hours are 37 hours per week, on a rotational shift pattern. This will be a varied shift pattern including weekdays and weekends; a flexible approach to work is essential.
