Residential Support Worker 


Salary:Up to £28,000 (depending on qualifications and experience) 


Location: Telford


Contract/Hours:Permanent/Full Time – 37 hours per week

A bit about the role 


Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop.  We are specifically looking for a Residential Support Worker who has had experience leading a team or may have been called a senior in a similar role. You will ensure the children's wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthyand can reach their full potential.

About the service 


Acorn ways an exciting new residential care home providing accommodation and support for children and young people between the ages of 5-18years who have both physical and learning disabilities.


As residential support worker you may be asked to sleep in an occasion, you can earn an extra £50 for each sleep.


The new home will provide warm caring and comfortable environment where young people feel safe and free to gain a sense of their own self supported in developing skills and achieve maximum quality of life.


Our residential support workers will work within a team that provides person centred care and tailored support to each child meeting their individual needs in accordance with their care plan. You will also ensure that policies And essential standards or quality and safety are achieved.


How you'll help to create brighter futures 

 



  • Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk

  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports

  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.

  • Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service

  • Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures

  • Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: 



  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust 

  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families 

  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting 

  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role 

  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
