Residential Support Worker 


(Day and Night shifts available) 


Salary: £23,151.50 - £28,000 per annum (depending on experience)   


Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire.


Contract/Hours: Permanent/Full Time – 37 hours per week.

A bit about the role


Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop.  We are specifically looking for a Residential Support Worker who has had experience leading a team or may have been called a senior in a similar role. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

A Bit about the Service 


Bradbury House provides quality short breaks and long stays for children aged 0–17 years providing a positive and stimulating experience for children with disabilities.


At the heart of our mission is a commitment to recognising the unique needs of each child who walks through our doors.  Bradbury house and its team offer a fun filled activity packed stay where the focus is on person centred care in a homely environment.


Bradbury House is so much more than just a place to stay, it's a community where children can build trust, form connections, and rediscover a sense of stability.


How you'll help to create brighter futures 



  • Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk

  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports

  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.

  • Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service

  • Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures

  • Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements.


Let's talk about you


Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:  



  • Experience of leading Shifts in a Care setting

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent)

  • Experience and training in safeguarding

  • An innovative and creative approach to problem solving

  • Experience of developing tailored care plans

  • The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
