Title: Residential Childcare Worker 

Location: Hoddesdon

Salary: £26k to £29k DOE

Shift Worker: Yes, a Rolling Rota of 48hour and occasional 24hour shifts

Sleep-ins: Yes as part of the shift work you are required to sleep over at the home.

The Home: 4 Bed Residential Children’s Home.

Driver: Required

Qualifications Required: None specific, however, resilience, empathy, and a demonstrated desire to work with vulnerable young people are essential.
Experience: None specific, but excellent verbal communication skills and fluency in English, with an understanding of various UK dialects, are required as service users may be from across the UK.
 
Overview:

As a residential support worker, you will nurture and support the children and young people in your care, with all aspects of day-to-day tasks and activities. You will have a passion for helping vulnerable young people achieve positive outcomes And reach their potential. No two days are the same working in Residential Care for Children. If you enjoy working with children and possess the resilience to work with challenging behaviours having a nurturing and supportive approach to your practice, we want to hear from you! Full induction, training and support is provided by the providers in-house learning and development team, including the QCF level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.

 

As a Residential Support Worker, you will have the following:

  • The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care
  • Lead, demonstrate, and share best practice to other practitioners in your home. In addition to working closely alongside Psychologists and the specialist therapeutic services team.
  • The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally
  • Shift work including weekends, evenings & sleep in duties
  • Full driving license is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum age 21
