SDR Care is a growing business with care homes situated on the South Coast. We pride ourselves on investing in our people and we are committed to the UK Living Wage Foundation. We aim to continuously train and develop our staff to enable them to reach their full potential within our collaborative and supportive team.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team of Night Support Workers at our home in Hailsham, where you will be working with residents with Complex Needs. The home will specialise in person-centred care for people with learning difficulties and autism.

The individual you will be working with has a fantastic and silly sense of humour; they love to make people laugh. They also love the outdoors, as well as playing ball games and having picnics. Working with this individual will be incredibly rewarding, as we help them on their development journey.

We are looking for people that might have experience and/or understanding of supporting individuals with autism and complex needs, or have worked in a similar role. You will be a great addition to the team if you enjoy working and interacting with people, have the right personality and share the same values as us. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, effective communicators, with high standards of care, and who are sensitive to the needs of people with complex needs.

The house will eventually have several residents at the property. You will, initially, be providing supported living to one individual. They have challenging needs and behaviours; however, full training and support will be provided to enable the team to support them in a proactive way delivering a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) model which highlights that all challenges are a form of communication. It is important that we recruit the RIGHT team member for this role, the rota is organised to primarily to suit the service user who we support 24/7.

Hours will be:

  • 20.50 hours per week (2 nights per week).

  • Set shifts on Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Hours of work are 21:45 - 08:00.

Our Values form an integral part of our business and as such we would seek applicants that can demonstrate:
