I am writing to you to apply for the role of care assistant. This role is very appealing to me as I have always had an interest in care work, and believe that my good social skills and kind, caring nature make me a strong candidate for this position.
My key strengths that would support my success in this position include:
>I am a very calm, friendly and chatty person; therefore, I would easily be able to make conversation and form relationships quickly and easily, whilst also making residents feel comfortable.
>I have a small amount of experience in cleanliness and care, as I spent a large part of my young adulthood helping alongside my mom whose job is to clean and take care of elderly residents, I would keep the residents company whilst my mom cleaned their flats. I also helped my mom clean any time she asked for my assistance.
>I also spent the start of last year looking after my mom as she was extremely poorly with COVID-19, she was very weak and unable to take care of herself, so I gave up my time to look after her, cook a for her and wash her.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking to you about this employment opportunity.
Sincerely, Layla Wildman.
I worked at this Charity shop for 1 week during school work experience, during this time I worked on the shop floor organising and cleaning shelves and re-ordering the shop floor and window displays to make the shop more eye-catching for passers-by. I also worked in the back of the shop, sorting and organising goods, tagging and steam ironing all clothes. I however did not get around to learning to work tills.
All of this helped me grow as a person and improved my confidence. Working on the shop floor to help customers and also working as a team when completing all jobs I was asked to do. All of this then led to me being asked to stay on as a volunteer for a few extra weeks during the summer holidays because I had helped make the shop more organised and had attracted more newer customers into the shop.
