As our Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health, offending behaviours and substance misuse needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community.  You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Typical day as our Support Worker

  • Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.
  • Our customers, have a wide range of complex needs ranging from mental health to offending behaviours and substance misuse. Due to this we link in with local agencies to ensure they are getting the most out of the time with us.
  • Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
  • Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too.

You bring

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail. 
  • Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
  • Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs. 
  • To get from A to B, driving is essential, and you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

You’ll join Stacey, Benjiee and Kayleigh and our wider Scott Grange, Complex and Community Services team, we’re super passionate about what we do! We’re really proud of the support we offer to our wonderful customers and the links we have made in the community.  We’re a supportive bunch and like to ensure we make a difference to our customers lives.

Job details

  • Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
  • Our working pattern is a two-week rolling rota, with one in every two weekends off. 
  • Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
