Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire
Salary: Starting at £33,000 per annum (increases based on experience)
Working Hours: 24.5-hour shifts (1 on 2 off pattern)
Hourly Rate: £50 flat rate for sleep-in, hourly rate applicable after 1+ hours awake
Number of Sleeps Required: 2-3 per week as part of the shift pattern
Pay Per Sleep: £50 flat rate

Service: Therapeutic Children’s Home
Qualifications Required: Ideally NVQ in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent
Experience in Years Required: Minimum 2 years' experience in an Ofsted-registered children's home
Employment Type: Permanent

The Home:

  • Number of Beds: 3
  • Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire
  • Ofsted Rating: Requires Improvement (RI) – Significant improvements made since the initial inspection
  • Ratio of Staff to Children: 3 YPs to 2 rotated staff members, management present Monday – Friday with out-of-hours support

We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker passionate about positively impacting the lives of vulnerable children and young people. You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar setting and possess strong knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic approaches. The successful candidate will adapt to new management styles and commit to continuous improvement.

Induction Process:

  • First-day induction
  • Minimum of 2 shadow shifts and PI training before starting full duties
  • Core training to be completed within the first month
  • Additional training to be completed within 6 months
  • Ongoing supervision and career development
