Job Title: Senior Therapeutic Carer (Driving Essential)
Location: Huddersfield
Salary: £35,120 starting salary
Working Hours: Full-time (165 hours per month)
Shift Pattern: 48-hour shifts (occasionally 24 hours), inclusive of sleep-ins, with rest days in between
Service: Therapeutic Children’s Home
Service Users: Children aged 6-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), trauma, and neglect backgrounds
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year in residential childcare
Employment Type: Permanent
Driving License: Required and must be willing to obtain business insurance.
The role of Senior Therapeutic Carer requires a compassionate and committed individual with experience in residential childcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-to-one therapeutic care to children aged 6-17, many of whom have experienced trauma and neglect. The candidate must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and have at least one year’s experience in the sector.
This role demands flexibility as the carer will be part of the on-call rota and will be required to undertake on-call duties. The carer will support children in social, educational, and leisure activities, helping them experience the joys of childhood, including family visits, holidays, and trips.
