Job Title: Residential Support Worker  - Children's Home - Female 


Location: Nottingham NG3 / Mapperley 


Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum - This is inclusive of up to 3 sleeps per month, additional sleeps are paid at £50 per sleep. Overtime available to increase salary if required.


Shifts: Over Mon - Sun, including BH, 40hour per week excluding sleeps + Overtime available


Shift Pattern: 3 Sleep Per Month + Overtime available 


Qualifications: Must hold or be willing to achieve an NVQ Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.


Experience: It is desirable that you have experience in/with: Childcare/Care Leaver/Supported Living for 18 to 24/Youth Services, setting, experience with child protection procedures, and residential childcare.


Visa & Sponsorship: Individuals on a Visa that expires before Jan 2027 will not be considered. Sponsorship is not available 


Role Specific Requirements:



  • UK Driving Licence

  • Female Only


As a Residential Support Worker,  you will support the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of children aged 5 to 17 in a new home designed for Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD). You will work shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with sleep-ins required.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide high-quality care to children and young people.

  • Develop secure, caring relationships with children.

  • Implement admission protocols and care plans.

  • Fulfil health, education, and training needs of children.

  • Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities.

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely completion of reports.

  • Serve as a key worker and role model.

  • Maintain the physical security of the home.

  • Collaborate with professionals to support children’s needs and advocate for their rights.
