Job Description:
We are working closely with a leading care group to assist with the appointment of a locum RMN - CAMHS(PRICE trained) within a hospital-based Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) setting.
The successful candidate will possess expertise in delivering care to young people experiencing acute mental health crises and requiring intensive interventions, including those who necessitate physical health interventions.
Rate of Pay: £25 per hour PAYE (days) - £27 per hour PAYE(nights). Addons for Weekends and Bank holidays upto £40 per hour PAYE.
Key Responsibilities:

Acute Crisis Intervention:
- Respond promptly to mental health crises, providing immediate assessment and stabilization.
- Utilize PRICE (Psychological Interventions for Children in Emergency Care) principles to manage acute behavioral disturbances and emotional dysregulation.
- Administer medications and other medical interventions as prescribed by the medical team.

Intensive Care:
- Provide round-the-clock care to young people requiring intensive observation and support.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and address physical health needs.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Transition Planning:
- Facilitate the transition of young people from acute care to community-based services.
- Develop discharge plans in collaboration with families and community providers.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of care.

Family Engagement:
- Establish strong relationships with families, providing support and guidance throughout the hospitalization process.
- Involve families in decision-making and treatment planning.
- Offer psychoeducation to families to enhance their understanding of mental health conditions and coping strategies.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Adhere to relevant clinical guidelines and professional standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of clinical guidelines and protocols.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Registered Children's Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC pin.
- Significant experience in a hospital-based CAMHS setting, preferably in an acute care unit.
- Completion of PRICE training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in working with young people who have complex and challenging needs.
- Additional training in specific therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Family Therapy.
- Experience in conducting physical health assessments.
