Minimum Requirements:

1) Evidence of having undertaken training courses in the delivery of therapeutic activities desirable but not essential.

2) Willingness to undertake training courses in the delivery of activities/social inclusion essential.

3) You will be willing to undertake other training courses that the Company offers for your own development.

4) Have an understanding of social inclusion and how to deliver meaningful pursuits and activities.

5) To be self-motivated

6) To be willing to research and keep abreast of innovation within the sector for providing meaningful and enjoyable activities.

7) To be willing to support individuals with hobbies and crafts of their choice.

8) Have a cheerful disposition and always be willing to join in.

9) Be flexible to suit the needs of the business.

10) Be able to use basic IT and technology to aid social activities/pursuits.

11) Be willing to escort residents on outings outside of the Home.

12) Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.

13) Provide a range of structured activities to engage people and stimulate them socially without undue stress.

14) Promote a warm and relaxed environment in which people can be supported to enjoy themselves and feel valued.

15) Assess and re-assess people’s preferences and level of ability to participate and involve them as fully as possible in what is going on around them.

16) Document and update all necessary paperwork within the care plans/reviews.

17) Tailor sessions flexibly to individual participants and accept that they may dip in and out of what is going on, dependent on their attention span.

18) Will have in place a mechanism for responding if people become upset or are disrupting others enjoyment.

19) Will be flexible in one’s approach to ensure the needs of the residents are met accordingly which may include evening and weekend sessions on a planned basis.

20) You will be able to adapt and change programs at short notice to meet the needs of the participants and always be aware of changing needs and levels of engagement.

21) Will adhere to all of the Company's Policies and Procedures at all times.

22) Support and work alongside all staff, understanding the role and positively endorsing dignity and respect at all times.

23) Will act as advocate for the Company when taking residents out into their community.

24) Build pictorial evidence of activities and outings.

25) Book outside agencies for entertainment purposes under the supervision of the Home Manager.

26) Arrange events for the residents and their families/friends to enjoy, such as garden parties and afternoon tea events.

27) Recognize / acknowledge / celebrate national days of importance and religious festivals.

28) Acknowledge every resident’s birthday and ensure kitchen supply a birthday cake, and that each resident receives a birthday card from the Home and a small gift.
