Oxford Aunts has been arranging help and care at home since it was established in 1967.
We are run by experienced nurses and managers who are trained in the respective roles of assessing and matching care staff with client requirements.
Oxford Aunts was established in 1967 in Oxford and we are very experienced in helping people to stay in their homes. We pride ourselves on having strong word-of-mouth referrals and feedback. We are regulated and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we observe the UKHCA Code of Practice and operate a recommended client complaints procedure.
Our care team is based in Oxford. They are always on hand to support our clients and carers and have an out-of-hours on-call telephone number.
Our carers are all vetted and assessed on their experience and skills by a trained interviewer and continuous assessment throughout their initial induction training is carried out. We take up at least three references and obtain an enhanced police clearance for everyone, as well as an overseas police check, where appropriate. Carers skills are carefully matched to client's care needs, as well as taking into account personalities. Our induction training is undertaken by all care staff and this sets out the high standards and working practices we expect to be followed. Ongoing training sessions are also provided to enable carers to deliver high standards of care to our client groups.
All our staff have previous care experience and their skills are assessed by us before being placed in a client’s home. A high number of our team have nursing or vocational qualifications and all our carers are supported by care managers, training professionals and trained nurses.
Oxford Aunts is not an agency. We employ, manage and train staff directly and deal with their pay, tax and national insurance. We provide a 24-hour on-call service for existing clients and care workers to call in an emergency. We work closely with our clients and their families to plan the help needed and carry out regular reviews.
