The Company - SHCA is a fully employee owned local company with a strong ‘people before profit’ ethos. It was formed in 1994 with a team of 20 people providing home care services. We now employ nearly 400 staff in the area.

Purpose of the Post - To enable vulnerable adults to stay in their own homes and live a more independent and fulfilling lifestyle.
Principal Duties - To uphold the rights and dignity of all clients and to respect their privacy and confidentiality.
To encourage independence and support the wishes of clients.
To look after the welfare and personal care of clients assigned to you.
To assist with the mobility, feeding, washing/bathing and dressing of clients in a sensitive manner.
To prepare meals and drinks
To perform household tasks including, dusting, vacuuming, clean kitchen surfaces and sink, clean cooker top after preparing meals, clean bath, shower and toilet, clean inside windows (without climbing), dustpan and brush on stairs if vacuum won’t reach, wet mop floors, ironing and laundry.
To supervise the prompting/administration of prescribed medication.
To perform any other duty to ensure the reasonable comfort of the client.
To accurately complete all records and paperwork as requested by line management
To adhere to General Data Protection Regulations
To attend any training courses that may be required
